Breaking News: Malaria Cases In Torres Strait

Malaria Ramblings has just received the following advice:

Four cases of malaria were reported in the Torres Strait last week: two on Dauan Island and two on Saibai Island.

This week another four cases have been reported on Saibai Island.

Action: Queensland Health has responded immediately with misting and long lasting insecticide treatment on both islands.

All at Malaria Ramblings hope the outbreak has been contained by this quick action.

The border between PNG and Australia has been closed until the outbreak is cleared up.
